county. right now, we have lig showers around the northern part of the beltway. off to the west, pulling out of west virginia, couple of storms, nothing really heavy. not a lot of lightening, but it's down here, going to show you, lexington park and look this tweet that i got. this is from southern maryland weather news. you can see great mills road flooded and up to four feet of water in some basements there in this outdoor patio picture. right now, our temperatures are still steady in the 80s despite the clouds and showers. and for the evening, a few shower, maybe a stray, but basically, nothing too heavy this evening. more rain coming straight at us and the remnants of isaac and if we ever dry out again, when i see you in just a bit. >> i hope we will. >> at some point, yes.

>> thanks and the threat of that wet weather prompted a change in plans for the annual labor day concert. tonight, it will move inside to the eisenhower theatre at the kennedy center. officials decided to make the call early. concert still starts at 8:00 p.m. and it's still free and open to the public. the concert has been a tradition in d.c. since 1979. some new pictures showing you how much damage isaac caused in louisiana. these pictures show the flooding and as you can see, most of those towns are still under water. statewide, there are still more than 200,000 people without electricity. president obama will visit the region tomorrow. new details tonight on the police officer facing assault charges. we now have the surveillance video that led to those charges. the footage was taken from a

store in brentwood, maryland. it shows an officer striking a man with his gun. you can see a flash. that's the gun going off. because of this video, corporal donald taylor was charged with second degree assault last month. police say taylor lied about the incident. he said a man attempting to rob a gas station tried to take his gun. the suspect spent four months in jail until prosecutors dropped the charges. we spoke to his attorney. >> when the video contradicts what the officer wrote, what it show ss that my client, they put his face on television, said he committed the crimes and he didn't. >> dorm and his attorney have filed a $10 million lawsuit against the police department and corporal taylor. the political spotlight shifts down to charlotte, north carolina, the site of the democratic national convention. president obama says he will offer a better path forward.

report from the convention tonight at 11:00. other news now, sunmyung moon has died. the church is probably best known for its mass weddings. officials for the church say moon passed away on monday. he was 92. amateur video from syria shows a large explosion today in homs. activists say government forces set homes on fire. this comes after a new report that shows 5,000 people were killed in syria last month. that makes august the deadliest month since the uprising began. activists estimate more than 20,000 people have been killed in the conflict. a large group rallied in front of the white house today against the the violence in syria. members gathered to urge president obama to do more. they say the president's

take a look at this new video of a deadly plane crash in iowa. plane flying in formation at the quad city air show failed to

pull out of a turn, crashed right into that field. no spectators were injured. the name of the pilot hasn't been released and officials are investigating what caused the crash. health department officials in ohio say a woman there has died from complications of swine flu. officials say the 61-year-old woman passed away earlier this week. tests confirm she contracted a new strain of swine flu. officials say she had underlying health issues, but they believe swine flu contributed to her death. experts in south florida are working around the clock to try to save five beached pilot whales. they're among a group of 22 whales that came ashore this weekend in st. lucy county. the others didn't survive. the officials are now feeding the whales fish smoothies and trying to keep them hydrated. still ahead, u.s. veterans marking a key turning point and marking a key turning point and kim's back with a dreary l

all right. nothing against you, of course, but this weather, really is kind of dreary. >> kind of lousy. the only thing that makes it nice is we need six inches or less. last night, we had like an inch and a half. we've had some light showers today. nothing super heavy unless you're watching from southern maryland. now, this picture is from last night courtesy of whag. this is berkeley springs, west virginia, jim, and the whole downtown got flooded. they got like 3 to 6 inches in less than three hours. today, they had more rain, but no more flash flooding. the activity is across southern maryland. you folks down here towards lexington park once again in the path of this, but i have the lightening turned out and there is no lightening with this storm, but it is moving toward leonard town. you guys had heavy downpours as

i mentioned earlier. we showed lexington park with some flooding down there. and this is the northern neck of virginia. just getting a nice sprinkle. nothing too heavy. up here closer to home, just on the southeast side of the beltway towards clinton and keterring, that's where we had some showers. as we get up above everything, all of this is tropical moisture from what was left over from isaac. it's going to be sitting here and spinning for the next couple of days. you're probably thinking how much more rain are we going to get. this map is going to show you between now and 11:00 tuesday. the different shades are up here in the keys. i made it easier. i added everything up. between now and 11:00 tuesday, this computer model suggests we could get anywhere from as little as a half an inch to as much 3.5 inches of rain across the area. the purple an reds especially is more heavier rainfall. the blue and the green especially would be closer to

that half inch. so shotgomething to keep in thek of your head. around 79 into the eastern p panhandle of west virginia. i'll suspect we'll be closer to 80 by about the next hour or so. and here's the timeline for you. let's pause it by tomorrow morning. clouds around. maybe a few spotty shower, maybe a little fog. by noon, more rain especially along 270 and throughout the day. 5:00 monday, you get the picture. just rather wet and stormy here, so we'll keep that as the case right into your tuesday and even wednesday is still looking a little damp. let's put it in writing. a few rumbling tonight, but mostly just scattered showers and tomorrow, another repeat performance with a warm day and opportunities if r rain. extending that forecast now, the next seven, yes, i have the next four days rather wet. we dry out by the end of the week.

candidate is more likely to return us to full employment. this is a clear choice. the republican plan is to cut more taxes on upper-income... people and go back to deregulation. that's what got us in trouble in the first place. president obama has a plan to rebuild america from... the ground up, investing in innovation, education... and job training. it only works if there is a strong middle class. that's what happened when i was president.
